The Shallow End

How sweet is this print? I just love it when I find an Etsy shop I’ve never perused, and it’s filled with pretty, papery goodness like this. Definitely check out Ambrosia Paperie right this second.

This may be easier said than done during this C-Monster-filled season of hacking and wheezing, but it’s still nice to have a pretty, friendly reminder around for good measure. Check out the rest of this series, and all of Julian Gese’s work here. It is vast and fantastic. (via Design For Mankind)

Roman Klonek’s illustration is all kooky and Polish, and there’s something about his characters that just charm me silly. If this upside down box dude is saying something offensive in some Eastern European language, I do apologize. But look at him! He’s so cute!

This sweet pony-loving post is dedicated to my friend Laura, who, in elementary school, dumped an unresponsive pen pal by writing “I don’t think I’ll have time to write much anymore because my dad just got me a pony and I have to go ride it.” Priceless. There is an excellent chance that I have posted Jessica Hische’s work before, on account of its enduring radness. But this piece from an Entertainment Weekly article on the phenomenon of feline internet celebrities pretty much made my day, so up it goes!

Nesting dolls keep grabbing my eyeballs for some reason, and these colors are totally up my alley. The Keep Calm Gallery does it again.

This print reminds me of being in 5th grade, when I alternated between the above phrase and “Go suck an egg” as my greeting of choice. Lovely, right? I even took the time to learn how to say “Go suck an egg” and “Take a picture, it will last longer” in French so I could be atrociously obnoxious in two languages. That, my friend, is ambition.

I’m a huge fan of basketball, and this print captures all of the retro coolness of throw-back night. Tim Lahan’s also got some other cool work here.
